Play to Post was commissioned by W139, an artist-run gallery in Amsterdam. Their request was to revive their archive, which documents the history of the gallery from 1980 up until today. In response, Sjef van Beers and I made an interactive installation that was exhibited at the entrance of W139 during the Pentecost weekend. Visitors could play a game of Tetris with images from the archive, cut out in the famous Tetris shapes that players can move and rotate. Every time a visitor would play a 3x3 square, this composition would disappear from the game and be uploaded automatically to W139's Instagram account. This image feed became a high speed stream of pixelated fragments of the archive. The installation posted around 300 images in 4 days, generated by over a 100 visitors, making the Instagram account lose almost 250 followers.
